He has been a member of the editorial board of the Journal of Arabic Literature since 1999.We've pretty much made it through the list of analyzers recommended by or at least pointed to by Elastic as part of T154511: Research, test, and deploy new language analyzers. Al-Musawi is the recipient of numerous honors and awards including the prestigious Owais Award in Literary Criticism (2002). His forthcoming book Arabic Poetry: Trajectories of Tradition and Modernity (Routledge) represents the most comprehensive treatment of this topic to date. His most recent book, The Postcolonial Arabic Novel: Debating Ambivalence (Brill, 2003), is the first study of its kind to tackle the postcolonial in Arabic fiction. His books include: Scheherazade in England (1981), The Society of One Thousand and One Nights (2000), and Anglo-Orient: Easterners in Textual Camps (2000). He is the author of 24 books (including four novels) and over 60 scholarly articles. Described by The Chronicle of Higher Education as "one of the Arab world's leading literary critics," al-Musawi's teaching and research interests span several periods and genres.
